Week 2, Day 5 – Prepare for the Weekend

by StephBuckwalter on June 17, 2011

Make a plan for the weekend and gather everything you’ll need for that today. Think of ways you can get others involved such as babysitting younger siblings, moving boxes, prepping a room to be painted, and so on.

[Kamikaze Cleaning Challenge - Week 2, Day 5]

I am determined to keep my blessed children on the task of picking up and cleaning up as they go through the day. As a result I spent most of my day calling them back to their mess to clean up and put their equipment away. I did manage to log in 1 hour of cleaning and organizing my Tupperware! I am ashamed to even type such a thing. How could it get so out of hand? Here’s hoping tomorrow is more rewarding.

I did not do anything that qualified for the challenge, but I did work on maintaining what’s already been done. The family room has looked great for almost 2 weeks now!

We’re maintaining the clutter again today, but barely. Thank goodness tomorrow is a Saturday and the kids can clean the living room without me and with minimal arguments after a year of training. I’ll get the rest of the daily & weekly chores done while they are in the living room and try for an hour in our sunroom aka clutter central. No challenge time in again for Friday.

Another 30 minutes in the garage. But now at a stalemate until trash and recycle come on Monday (we have an old oven and about 30 flattened boxes for recycle and it will be way easier to see more progress once that is all gone). I need to plan to work on another room when it is too hot to work out in the garage.

I like the way you personified that. In literary terms, would this qualify as man versus man, man versus nature, or man versus himself?

I like Saturdays for the same reason.
